Back in 1998, when the internet was still in its early days, trading online felt like stepping into the Future—full of exciting opportunity, but also plenty of risk. Like many others, I faced challenges with clunky technology and the steep learning curve of this new online business (imagine having only four international brokers and connecting through dial-up!).
I was doing okay, but not much more than that. Information was scarce, and decent trading software was practically nonexistent—I even had to draw some charts by hand! Then, I met an older, seasoned trader through a mutual friend. John had years of experience, mostly in Forex majors and exotics, but also in commodities like gold and oil. We quickly became good friends, and his mentorship changed everything for me. With his guidance, I began to see how it is possible to consistently make money in the world’s largest financial markets.
It took years of hard work, studying, and more than a few losing trades, but eventually I became a consistently profitable trader. My journey from those challenging beginnings to trading success taught me the true value of insider knowledge and mentorship—this isn't just a cliché, it’s real.
On a side note, I recently completed a postgraduate degree in philosophy, which has more in common with trading than you might think. Understanding crowd behavior and market psychology is absolutely key to success!
